My Ex Has a New Significant Other & I Pay Him/Her Alimony. Do I Have To Still Keep Paying Alimony?

Under Nevada law, alimony terminates upon death of either party or re-marriage of the receiving/payee spouse. So the quick answer is no, your alimony does not automatically terminate if your spouse has a new significant other. Now, if your spouse is living with that new significant other, there is case law to support a modification of alimony, but it is not guaranteed. You also need to show a change in circumstances, which in most cases is defined as a 20% change in income of the payor spouse (you).

Unless there terms in your divorce decree that state otherwise, alimony will only automatically terminate as stated herein. If you want to seek to modify, it will ultimately be up to the Judge decide, and they may or may not decide to modify.
